The Custom Design Process
Our custom designs process is a rigorous one, taking into account your vision, budget, deadline and unique requirements to ensure a beautiful end product for you to cherish forever.
As we believe good things take time, it’s very important to approach us with your design ideas well in advance of any special dates in order to give our design team ample time to perfect your designs.
Once your bespoke design is confirmed in the second stage of our custom designs process, production will take approximately 4 weeks to complete.
When reaching out to us to collaborate on a bespoke design, you can expect the following:

Information Gathering & Stone Selection
After reaching out, a member of our design team will work with you to gather as much information as possible regarding your design brief to help the quoting/design process to flow as smoothly as possible.
This is the stage where we work together to confirm ring sizes, gemstones, ideas for potential substitutions, etc. Once that information is threaded together by our design team, the brief is handed over to our designer, who will be in contact with your rough quote and sketches within 1-7 days.
The main points of information required to put your brief together are:
- Metal Type
- Due Date
- Main & Detailing Gemstones (if applicable)
- Ring size (if applicable)
- Inspiration photos, sketches etc.
We will happily assist with stone selection and sourcing depending on the design and your individual needs. Alternatively, you may choose jewels from our stock of loose gemstones and diamonds – or even provide your own. See FAQ for customer-owned gemstone disclaimer.

Design & Refine
With a clear vision attained by our initial consultation, we’ll get to work on initial concepts. Our designer uses innovative CAD software to design your jewellery in a 3D space. This advanced technology allows us to create extremely intricate designs, down to the smallest details and gives you the exciting opportunity to follow the design process.
As a result, you will be able to see exactly how your unique piece would look before choosing to move forward with payment and manufacturing.
Concept presentations include CAD sketches and beautiful, realistic 3D renderings. Based on your feedback, if required, we’ll revise and refine your chosen design until it perfectly aligns with your vision and budget.

Manufacture
We pride ourselves on exceptional craftsmanship! Once your design has been finalised and confirmed, it is time for our talented artisans to bring it to life.
This manufacturing process may take 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the design and stone availability – and weekly updates on the progress of your bespoke piece will be provided where possible.

Deliver & Smile
Once your custom-designed jewellery piece is finalised and passes our workshop’s quality check, it is safely secured in our signature Southern Cross Jewels packaging, along with care instructions to keep its gemstones sparkling for years.
All that’s left to do is pop the bubbly and celebrate because it’s time to wear your beautiful creation!
